Maryvale wins in field hockey

Casey Locher scored on a crossing pass from Paige Ibello just over a minute into overtime to push Maryvale past John Carroll, 1-0, in an Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference field hockey game yesterday in Bel Air.

The Lions improved to 9-2.

The Patriots (5-3) got a stellar performance from goalkeeper Courtney Carnaggio (10 saves).

Boys soccer

No. 4 Curley 5, John Carroll 0 -- D.J. Quigley scored all five goals for the visiting Friars (8-3-1).

Girls soccer

No. 8 IND 3, Dulaney 1 -- Brittany Hadaway had a goal and an assist for the visiting Indians (5-4).


No. 6 Bel Air 3, Aberdeen 0 -- Gabby Long had six aces and five kills as the host Bobcats (6-0) defeated the Eagles (1-6).
