On Saturday, September 24, 2005, LYNDON LEE VIRGIN, 90, of Glen Burnie. He was the husband of the late Minnie D. Virgin (nee Eschenbach). Mr. Virgin was preceded in death by his son Lyndon Lee Virgin, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Linda May Virgin, and daughter and son-in-law Carol E. and John M. Linkous, Jr. and grandson, John Lee Linkous. Mr. Virgin retired after 40 years from Bethlehem Steel as a Shipfitter. Mr. Virgin served in the US Army in WWII as a Rifleman and Lineman. He served in Naples, Rome, Southern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the American Theater Service Ribbon, WWII Victory Ribbon, Purple Heart, Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, the Croix de Guerre w/Palm, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Virgin was an Oriole fan and enjoyed tinkering around the house. The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Avenue S. W (at Crain Hwy), Glen Burnie, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M., on Friday. The funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday at 10 A.M. in the funeral home chapel. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.
