SPLURGE OF THE WEEK

BEAUTY BY THE JAR

The ingredients are fairly standard: sea kelp, vitamins and minerals. The price tag is anything but. These ordinary ingredients are distilled into a trademarked Miracle Broth, developed by a NASA physicist, that turns face cream into Creme de La Mer. Celebrities like J-Lo and Diddy swear by it.

The directions say "apply day and night -- for a lifetime."

Look for the just-launched facial scrub made with ground diamonds on store shelves soon.

RETAIL PRICE:

$195 for 2 ounces
