Towson (2-1) @Northeastern (0-3)

Time -- 12:30 p.m.

Series -- Northeastern leads 4-3

Last week -- Towson lost to New Hampshire, 62-21; Northeastern lost to Villanova, 38-20.

Outlook -- In its first road game of the year, Towson still seeks its first Atlantic-10 Conference win after nine successive defeats. The Tigers are coming off one of the worst losses in program history, while Northeastern is 0-3 for the first time in 11 years. Towson senior WR James Byroads make his 2005 debut after recovering from injury.

Frostburg State (1-1) @SUNY-Brockport (1-2)

Time -- 1 p.m.

Series -- SUNY-Brockport leads 9-4

Last week -- Frostburg beat Montclair State, 17-14; SUNY-Brockport beat Apprentice, 14-7.

Outlook -- The Bobcats are coming off a big upset victory in which they blocked two field goals by Montclair, including a game-tying attempt in the waning seconds. SUNY-Brockport, led by RB Brian Wise's average of 237.3 all-purpose yards, has won the past five between these teams.

Montclair State (0-2) @Salisbury (3-0)

Time -- 1 p.m.

Radio -- 1320 AM

Series -- Montclair leads 6-1

Last week -- Salisbury beat Christopher Newport, 44-24; Montclair lost to Frostburg, 17-14.

Outlook -- In their first meeting since 1992, the Sea Gulls will try to break a six-game series losing streak . They have risen to No. 10 in the Division III poll behind the leadership of QB Dustin Johnson, who rushed for a personal-best 197 yards last week and now has 460 for the season. RB Leroy Satchell has added 377 for a team averaging 42.3 points a game.

Bowie State (4-0) @North Carolina Central (4-0)

Time -- 4 p.m.

Series -- N.C. Central leads 12-4-1

Last week -- Bowie beat Livingstone, 33-15; N.C. Central beat Shaw, 37-31.

Outlook -- Bowie is off to its best start since 1988 but will be tested severely in this key Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association game. The Bulldogs lead Division II in rushing and total defense, but Central QB Adrian Warren has already thrown for 1,015 yards and nine touchdowns, six to Torey Ross, who has 26 receptions. Isaac Redman heads Bowie's crunching running attack with an average of 119.2 yards and has scored seven TDs.

Morgan State (1-2) vs. Hampton (3-0)

What -- Whitney Young Classic

Site -- Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J.

Time -- 4 p.m.

Radio -- 88.9 FM

Series -- Morgan leads 35-13-2

Last week -- Morgan beat Savannah State, 55-26; Hampton beat North Carolina A&T, 31-14.

Outlook: -- The Bears hope to build on their first success in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener against the top team in the Black College rankings. They bring with them Jason Jackson, who broke the school single-game record with 251 yards rushing last week, and WR Kelvin Dickens, who needs only 124 yards receiving to be Morgan's all-time leader. Hampton coach Joe Taylor, the mentor of Morgan's Donald Hill-Eley, is 10-3 against the Bears and has won the past two.
