Play of the week
RB Edgerrin James, Colts -- James racked up 128 rushing yards and 39 more on four catches against a tough Jacksonville defense Sunday, but he still hasn't found the end zone this season. That should change this week at home against Cleveland, which has a defense that ranks 28th against the run.
Position analysis
Quarterbacks
Starting nod -- Trent Green, Kansas City at Denver. The Chiefs' running game will soften up Denver's defense for Green to have a big Monday night.
Other solid options -- Marc Bulger, St. Louis vs. Tennessee; Matt Hasselbeck, Seattle vs. Arizona; Drew Bledsoe, Dallas at San Francisco.
Take a seat -- Jake Delhomme, Carolina at Miami; Kerry Collins, Oakland at Philadelphia; Michael Vick, Atlanta at Buffalo.
Running backs
Starting nod -- Carnell Williams, Tampa Bay at Green Bay. With a league-leading 276 yards in his first two career starts, Williams has become a must-start each week.
Other solid options -- Willis McGahee, Buffalo vs. Atlanta; Julius Jones, Dallas at San Francisco; Deuce McAllister, New Orleans at Minnesota.
Take a seat -- Curtis Martin, New York Jets vs. Jacksonville; Ahman Green, Green Bay vs. Tampa Bay; Rudi Johnson, Cincinnati at Chicago.
Wide receivers
Starting nod -- Rod Smith, Denver vs. Kansas City. Expect a ton of offense in this game, with Smith getting plenty of balls thrown his way.
Other solid options -- Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis vs. Cleveland; Joe Horn, New Orleans at Minnesota; Michael Clayton, Tampa Bay at Green Bay.
Take a seat -- Steve Smith, Carolina at Miami; Plaxico Burress, New York Giants at San Diego; Jimmy Smith, Jacksonville at New York Jets.
Tight ends
Starting nod -- L.J. Smith, Philadelphia vs. Oakland. After 119 yards receiving with one score last week, Smith will next feast on an Oakland defense that ranks 27th against the pass.
Other solid options -- Randy McMichael, Miami vs. Carolina; Jason Witten, Dallas at San Francisco; Ernie Conwell, New Orleans at Minnesota.
Take a seat -- Heath Miller, Pittsburgh vs. New England; Jerramy Stevens, Seattle vs. Arizona; Daniel Graham, New England at Pittsburgh.
Kickers
Starting nod -- Shayne Graham, Cincinnati at Chicago. The Bengals' offense will move the ball against the home team Bears, but might have a tough time finding the end zone. Enter Graham.
Defense
Starting nod -- San Diego vs. New York Giants. Desperate for a win and at home in prime time, the Chargers' defense should wreak havoc on the visiting Giants.
