HELEN MARIE HARRISON of Eldersburg, Maryland, born September 17, 1925, died quietly at home after a long illness on September 21, 2005. Daughter of Jacob and Veronica Karmilovich of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. She was the eldest daughter of their 13 children. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Louis Harrison Sr. She is survived by family members; her two sons, Joseph Louis Harrison Jr. of Eldersburg, Maryland and Brian Paul Harrison of Westminster, Maryland, and her daughter Deborah Lynn Schmidt of Taylorsville, Maryland and their families, including her three grandchildren: Jamie Nichole Schmidt, Joseph William Harrison and Jillian Fielder Harrison. She retired from a long career at the Social Security Administration in 1979 where she worked as a Medical Claims Review Analyst. She was a devout Catholic and member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Eldersburg, Maryland, where she attended the Cancer Support Group. She was an active member of the Westminster, Maryland chapter of NARFE. She was an avid baseball fan. But most importantly, she was a selfless caring person, an inspiration to all, a mother, grandmother, and an optimist until the end. Services and Interment will be private. Donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville.
