Banking and finance

Hamilton Federal Bank, a savings and loan in Northeast Baltimore, appointed Robert A. DeAlmeida, formerly vice president and treasurer, as president. It also named James F. Hershner, former senior vice president, as executive vice president.

Wachovia Corp. appointed James Themides president of its Baltimore region. He oversees retail, commercial and business banking operations in the area.

The Columbia Bank named Scott Crosby a mortgage originator.

Health care

Erickson Retirement Communities of Catonsville appointed Bruce R. Grindrod as president and operations officer and Mark Erickson as chief strategy officer for Erickson Health. The company also appointed Dr. Matthew Narrett as chief medical officer, Deb Doyle as senior vice president of health and operations management, and Eric Gross as senior vice president of community operations.

Professional services

Sturn Wagner Lombardo & Co. LLC of Annapolis named Kara Doll as an accountant in the firm's tax department.

Real estate

Continental Realty Corp. of Baltimore named Bill Burch development manager in the firm's commercial division.

Preston Partners Inc., a Lutherville real estate services firm, named Joseph Vassallo vice president. He is responsible for business development in the Baltimore-Washington area.

Nonprofits

The Casey Foundation named Pam Goode communications director for the Baltimore-based children's charity.

Julie Community Center, a family service and community outreach organization located in East Baltimore, named Peter Savage to serve on its board of directors.
