After neighbors called to report a stabbing, Baltimore County police arrived to find smoke and flames coming from a window of a Dundalk rowhouse. Inside, officials found an unidentified person dead, the body badly burned, authorities said.

Police said they are trying to identify the person found dead by firefighters in the two-story rowhouse in the 7200 block of Holabird Ave. Another person was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with stab wounds. Police did not identify the victim, whose condition was not disclosed.

The burned body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy. The cause of the 3 a.m. fire was under investigation, police said.

Don Frankhouse, 48, a Holabird Avenue resident, said he was awakened about 3:30 a.m. by a neighbor knocking on the door. "They thought the fire was going to spread," Frankhouse said.

The fire was contained but caused interior damage to the home and scorched its facade.
