Devil Rays update

Tampa Bay was once one of the hottest teams in the league after the All-Star break, but it has cooled in September. The Devil Rays have lost eight of 13 games this month, and they face a brutal schedule to close the season. After the three-game series at Camden Yards, the Devil Rays face series with the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Angels and Cleveland Indians before finishing at home against the Orioles. The Devil Rays have shown that they are well stocked for the future. Outfielder Carl Crawford, 24, leads all Devil Rays with a .296 average along with 13 homers. In his first full season in the majors, infielder Jorge Cantu, 23, has 23 homers and 103 RBIs. However, the Devil Rays' young pitching staff has the second-worst ERA in the AL. The Orioles are 8-4 against the Devil Rays this season, 6-0 at Camden Yards.
