Tonight's Game

September 12, 2005

Philadelphia at Atlanta

Time/TV: 9 p.m./chs. 2, 7

Line: Eagles by 1

Trends: The Falcons look a lot like they looked last year - attacking defense, stout running game, sporadic passing game. If they are going to legitimately challenge the Eagles for the NFC championship, QB Michael Vick must improve in the passing game.

Attractions: Philadelphia's Terrell Owens-Donovan McNabb feud will be center stage. Owens' talk of patching up the rift is just that - talk. If Owens gets to the end zone, it'll be interesting to see what self-promoting display he'll unleash.

Pick: Eagles, 24-16

Ken Murray

Patriots (1-0) at Panthers (0-1): Carolina will challenge Tom Brady's quick-strike offense. The Panthers had their chances against New Orleans yesterday but came up empty. They don't want to start 0-2. Dolphins (1-0) at Jets (0-1): The rivalry is renewed, although it's the Dolphins who come in with momentum and the Jets limping.
