On September 3, 2005, REV. MILDRED DIANE BLACKWELL. The family will receive friends at the family owned Howell Funeral Home, 4600 Liberty Heights Avenue, on Monday, September 12, 2005, from 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Services will be held in the Sanctuary of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 214 S. Loudon Avenue, on Tuesday, family hour 10:30 to 11 A.M. Services to follow. Interment Lorraine Park Cemetery. Inquiries to 410-664-6800.L. BLAKENEY, age 93, of Millington, MD, died at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Blakeney was born in Baltimore, MD , the daughter of the late Frederick and Emma Leight Grueninger. Mrs. Blakeney is a retired Telephone Operator with C&P Telephone Co., retirng in 1970. She was a member of the Kent County Senior Citizens, the C&P Telephone Pioneers and the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge. Mrs. Blakeney loved to travel, especially hee trips with the senoirs. As recently as last year, she flew to Arizona for a vacation. She also enjoyed creating ceramics and loved to dance until her health forced her to become a spectator. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blakeney is predeceased by her husband William Henry Blakeney, in 1976, 2 brothers, Raymond and Fred, 2 sisters, Pauline and Freda. She is survived by her daughter, with whom she lived, Judy Hemstetter of Millington, MD., and 1 son William E. Blakeney of Zenith, CA, four grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2005 at 5 P.M. in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, MD., where friends and family may call after 3 P.M. Interment will be held on Monday September 12, 2005 at 2 P.M. in the Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the Millington Volunteer Fire CO., P.O. Box 255, Millington, MD 21651 or the American Diabetes Assoc., of Maryland, 3120 Tianus Lane, Suite 106, Baltimore, MD 21244.
