Mrs. Blakeney was born in Baltimore, MD , the daughter of the late Frederick and Emma Leight Grueninger. Mrs. Blakeney is a retired Telephone Operator with C&P Telephone Co., retirng in 1970. She was a member of the Kent County Senior Citizens, the C&P Telephone Pioneers and the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge. Mrs. Blakeney loved to travel, especially hee trips with the senoirs. As recently as last year, she flew to Arizona for a vacation. She also enjoyed creating ceramics and loved to dance until her health forced her to become a spectator. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blakeney is predeceased by her husband William Henry Blakeney, in 1976, 2 brothers, Raymond and Fred, 2 sisters, Pauline and Freda. She is survived by her daughter, with whom she lived, Judy Hemstetter of Millington, MD., and 1 son William E. Blakeney of Zenith, CA, four grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2005 at 5 P.M. in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, MD., where friends and family may call after 3 P.M. Interment will be held on Monday September 12, 2005 at 2 P.M. in the Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie, MD.
