Reporting abuse can save a child

Kudos to Carroll County for producing It's Up to Us, the instructional video produced to train professionals to spot child abuse.

Sadly, the little boy who was allegedly abused by his special education teacher at Hampstead Elementary School this past spring won't be able to benefit from it.

There is clearly a need for this video. Educators are legally required to report child abuse.

No one at the school reported the alleged physical abuse to the authorities on the day that it happened.

It wouldn't be out of line to suggest that the producers include a special segment on how to report child abuse by a fellow teacher for the benefit of teaching professionals.
