Frostburg State (0-0) at Apprentice (1-0)

Time: 1 p.m.

Series: Frostburg State leads 9-3-1

Last week: Apprentice beat N.C. Wesleyan, 37-21; Frostburg State was idle.

Outlook: Frostburg has won the past three season openers against the Builders, and the Bobcats have not allowed an Apprentice rusher to accumulate more than 100 yards in the past five meetings . The Frostburg defense should be tough this season with the return of senior DE Kevin Culbert, who missed the last seven games last season with a hand injury.

Randolph-Macon (0-1) at Johns Hopkins (1-0)

Time: 1 p.m.

Series: Randolph-Macon leads 14-12-1

Last week: Hopkins beat Rochester, 9-7; R-M lost to Chowan, 16-13.

Outlook: The Hopkins offense sputtered and sputtered last week, but junior K Ben Scott saved the day with a school record 75-yard punt and three field goals. The Blue Jays continued to roll through September games to the tune of 12 straight. Next up to challenge the September record, as well as the non-conference winning streak of 12, is

Randolph-Macon.

McDaniel (1-0) at Seton Hill (0-1)

Time: 1 p.m.

Radio: 1470 AM

Series: First meeting

Last week: McDaniel beat Bridgewater, 36-35; Seton Hill lost to Urbana, Ohio, 28-27.

Outlook: McDaniel coach Tim Keating is trying to keep his team's high emotions in check this week after the season-opening upset victory over No. 14 Bridgewater. The come-from-behind win (down 33-14 at half) came despite the loss of starting QB Brad Baer with a shoulder injury late in the third quarter. Baer will be out at least one week. The Green Terror is ranked No. 24 this week. Seton Hill is an NAIA school.

Salisbury (1-0) at SUNY-Brockport (0-1)

Time: 1 p.m.

Radio: 1320 AM

Series: Salisbury leads 2-0

Last week: Salisbury beat Methodist, 48-28; SUNY-Brockport lost to Cortland, 20-10.

Outlook: Salisbury moved up from No. 15 to No. 12 this week after the season opener against Methodist. Salisbury has outscored Brockport, 89-21, in two wins.

Bowie State (2-0) at Morgan State (0-1)

Time: 6 p.m.

Radio: 88.9 FM

Series: Tied 3-3-1

Last week: Bowie State beat Johnson C. Smith, 12-9; Morgan lost to Towson, 29-26.

Outlook: Bowie's offense took the week off, but its traditionally-tough defense enabled the Division II team to bring a 2-0 record into this state matchup with Division I-AA Morgan. The Bears looked as if they were in good position to defeat cross-town rival Towson last week before squandering a 26-13 lead midway through the third quarter.

Lock Haven (1-1) at Towson (1-0)

Time: 6 p.m.

Radio: 89.7 FM

Series: Towson leads 1-0

Last week: Towson beat Morgan, 29-26; Lock Haven lost to James Madison, 56-0.

Outlook: Towson was sloppy in nearly every phase of the game last week, committing seven turnovers, missing two extra points and committing nine penalties for 76 yards. Lock Haven is a Division II school that lost to Towson, 50-19, in their only meeting.
