HENRY W. (Bill) FAIRCHILD Ph D, age 84 of Towson, MD, a WW II veteran, survivor of the Battle of the Bulge, recipient of the Bronze Star and the Soldiers Medal, died September 5, 2005. His career focused on increasing agricultural food production in rural third world nations, including Korea and Bangladesh. For twenty years, until his retirement in 1983, he worked for the Food and Agricultural Organization of the U.N. in Rome, Italy. He is the beloved husband of the late Chil Fairchild (nee Song); devoted father of Elizabeth Fairchild, Brian Fairchild, Blaine Fairchild, Barbara Fairchild, Sung Yul Kim and the late Michael Fairchild; fond grandfather of William and Leilani Kim; dear brother of Ethel Whisler and the late Lela Kloosterhouse Johnson Funeral Service and Interment private. Contributions may be made in memory of Henry Fairchild to the U.N. Rural Development Fund, U.S. Committee for F.A.O., 2175 K.
