TOMORROW

Labor Day closings

Howard County government offices, courts, libraries, the animal shelter and the landfill will be closed on Labor Day. Parking meters must be fed. Trash, recycling or yard trimmings will not be collected. Trash collected on Mondays will be picked up Tuesday; Monday recycling routes will have pickups Sept. 12. County services will reopen for regular business hours Tuesday. Police, fire and 911 services are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergencies: 911. Nonemergencies: 410-313-2200.

TUESDAY

Mental Health Authority

Will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the second-floor conference room of the Gateway Building, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia. 410-313-7350.

County Council

Will hold a legislative session at 7:30 p.m. in the Banneker Room, George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City. The session will be televised live on Gtv. 410-313-2001.

WEDNESDAY

Consumer Affairs Advisory Board

Will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Bain Senior Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, Columbia. 410-313-6420.

THURSDAY

Housing and Community Development Board

Will meet at 7 p.m. in the fifth-floor conference room of the Gateway Building, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia. 410-313-6318.

Department of Housing and Community Development

Will hold a public hearing on FY 2004 Draft Plan for Consolidated Annual Performance Report at 7 p.m. in Room 1 on the first floor of the Gateway Building, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia. Citizens will also have an opportunity to comment during a public hearing on the draft Home Accessibility and Repair Program Rules administered by the Department of Citizen Services, Office on Aging in Room 1 on the first floor of the Gateway Building. LANDFILL

Hours: Alpha Ridge Landfill, 2350 Marriottsville Road in Marriottsville, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays, except some holidays.
