Foreign enrichment

Loyola's soccer team took a playing tour of England and Scotland from Aug. 1 through Aug. 11, playing five friendly matches against youth and pro teams and compiling a 2-2-1 record. A total of 24 players went, including all of the Dons' returning players.

Torn ACLs

Glenelg, Liberty and North Carroll have all been hit hard by anterior cruciate ligament injuries, each losing a top player for all or part of the season. Liberty's Taylor Van Brackle, a senior striker who scored 16 goals last season, tore his ACL in March playing for the Casa Mia Bays and is out until at least late September. North Carroll's David Smedick, a senior sweeper, tore his ACL playing in a summer showcase tournament and is out for the season. And Glenelg's top player, Ben Cobleigh, is out for the season after tearing his ACL playing summer lacrosse.

New divisions

The following are the new divisions for Baltimore County teams: Division I: Catonsville, Eastern Tech, Franklin, Kenwood, Lansdowne, Parkville, Patapsco, Perry Hall Division II: Dulaney, Dundalk, Hereford, Loch Raven, Owings Mills, Pikesville, Sparrows Point, Towson Division III: Carver, Chesapeake, Milford Mill, New Town, Overlea, Randallstown, Western, Woodlawn.

Fallston coach Christopher Hoover, when asked how he felt about his Harford County team being put into the same region with high-powered teams from the non-contiguous counties of Howard and Anne Arundel along with standout J.M. Bennett of Wicomico County. J.M. Bennett is 150 miles and a three-hour drive from Fallston.
