Gas leak fixed

Glenmar classes due to resume today

September 01, 2005

Classes were expected to resume today at Glenmar Elementary School in eastern Baltimore County after the school was shut down yesterday because of a nearby gas leak, a school spokesman said.

The leak from a punctured line in front of the school was detected before classes began, said the spokesman, Charles A. Herndon.

A BGE spokeswoman said a construction crew working in the 9700 block of Community Drive accidentally broke the underground 6-inch gas line. The utility shut down the line and repaired it by afternoon, spokeswoman Linda Foy said.
