Correction

September 01, 2005

An article in The Sun July 7 about diet sodas included several errors. Diet Pepsi was introduced in 1964, saccharin was never banned from use, and cyclamates are no longer used in the United States as an artificial sweetener, though they are used in other countries.

The Sun regrets the errors.
