QUESTION: How many public schools are in Howard County?

ANSWER: There are 70, including 37 elementary schools, one prekindergarten-through-eighth-grade school, 18 middle schools, 12 high schools and two special schools. The county's 12th high school, Marriotts Ridge, is set to open tomorrow. Two more elementary schools - one in Dayton and the other in Ellicott City - are expected to open in 2006 and 2007, respectively.
