DONALD ALLAN GOLDMAN, former Executive V.P. of Holiday Spas and former owner of Calvert Discount Liquors died Sunday, August 21, 2005 he was 71. Mr. Goldman was a lifelong resident of Baltimore and grew up with his parents Yetta and Samuel Goldman, and younger sister, Sondra Du Bois. He left home in 1953 to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Puerto Rico for 2 years. Donald Goldman was an incredible Businessman and pioneer in the fitness industry, serving as Exec. V.P. President for Holiday Spas from 1967 to 1991. He was an inspirational leader and helped spearhead the Company's Initial Public Offering in the 1970. He loved the company like a child, and spoke highly of everybody he worked with. His memories about his professional life were amazingly compelling, hysterically funny, sad, and were too abundant to compile here. After his departure from the Spa business, he purchased Calvert Discount Liquors a Baltimore County Staple for fine wine enthusiasts and beer lovers. Mr. Goldman helped the troubled wine shop blossom into a profitable and extremely popular depot which residents from Maryland and beyond would travel. Donald Goldman is survived by his wife and best friend, Sheila Goldman, two sons: Jason and Justin, two daughters Debbie Mobley and Cheryl Bosse, three grandchildren, and loving mentor of Kevin and Kimberly Copenspire. Donald will forever be in our hearts, and he will be missed immensely.
