DORIS WILSON, 89 years old, of Cumberland died Monday, August 22, 2005. Born February 7, 1916 in Coxsackie, New York, Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of Charles Franklin Hoag and Mae (Suftin) Hoag. Mrs. Wilson was married for fifty years to Fred A. Wilson who died October 8, 1985. Mrs. Wilson was an active member of the Potomac Park Methodist Church for over 27 years. Well known for her charitable activities, Mrs. Wilson was a member of the church council for many years in addition to serving as chairwoman of the annual Christmas Bazaars. More recently, Mrs. Wilson was affiliated with the Cresaptown United Methodist Church. In retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson moved to Cumberland where they have resided for twenty-nine years. Mrs. Wilson was a La Vale Lioness, a Cumberland Eye Bank volunteer, and an active member and supporter of the Cumberland Senior Center. Surviving Mrs. Wilson are sons Wayne Wilson of Pataskala, Ohio; Richard Wilson and wife Linda of Edgewood, Maryland; Jack Wilson and wife, Mary Lou of Rosedale, Maryland and her daughters Janice Felipa of Cumberland, Maryland and Jeanne Sweat and husband Robert of Perry Hall, Maryland. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Hafer Funeral Service, P.A., 1302 National Hwy La Vale, MD was in charge of the arrangements.
