Ruth T. Roberty, 73, collector of antiques

Ruth T. Roberty, a Bel Air homemaker and antiques collector, died Aug. 18 at Mercy Medical Center of complications from back surgery. She was 73.

Born Ruth T. Prumbo in Fairview, W.Va., and raised in Mannington, W.Va., she worked in the early 1950s at the Army Chemical Center at Edgewood Arsenal before leaving to raise her family.

Mrs. Roberty enjoyed collecting antique glassware, furniture and lamps, and preparing Italian food for her family and friends. She also liked traveling to Europe and Hawaii.

She was a member of Bel Air United Methodist Church, where services were held Monday.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Alfonso A. Roberty, retired superintendent of Harford County public schools; two daughters, Paula C. Roberty of Forest Hill and Cecilia R. Silvia of Bel Air; and two grandsons.
