Indians update

After sweeping the Athletics in Oakland, where they previously hadn't won a game since 2002, the Orioles visit another place where they have traditionally struggled. The Orioles are 12-35 at Jacobs Field and have lost 17 of their past 21 games there. Cleveland has managed to stay near the top of the American League wild-card standings - they are 2 1/2 games behind Oakland and 5 1/2 games ahead of the Orioles - despite struggling at home (29-31). Cleveland took three of four from the Orioles at Camden Yards from June 30 to July 3. The Indians' bullpen has the top relief ERA in the majors (2.82), and Cleveland's overall pitching staff has posted the fifth-best ERA in the AL. Designated hitter Travis Hafner has hit in 13 of his past 14 games (16-for-50) to lift his average to .312. Catcher Victor Martinez is batting .384 (43-for-112) in his past 29 games.
