Head out to Annmarie Garden in Solomons, and be one of the many people to decorate a piece of the gardens' wooden path with chalk. Anyone is welcome to come get a bucket of chalk and draw whatever inspires them. After chalking is done, prizes will be awarded in different categories and age groups.

The Sidewalk Chalk-a-thon! finishes up today and tomorrow. The gardens are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Annmarie Garden is at 13480 Dowell Road in Solomons. Free. Call 410-326-4640.

Great Pocomoke Fair

The Great Pocomoke Fair returns to Pocomoke City for its 104th year on Wednesday. This year's fair features livestock exhibits, tractor pulls, bands and farm animal and produce judging. Kids can delight in Sillie Willie the Clown, greased-pig contests, egg tosses and other games. There will also be contests, including the Kute Kids contest, a Mom's calling contest where blindfolded mothers have to find their children, and the traditional Little Mister and Miss Great Pocomoke Fair Contest, open to children ages 4 to 6.

The fair kicks off Wednesday night and continues through Aug. 26 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Aug. 27, the hours are 8 a.m.-11 p.m. General admission is free Wednesday and Aug. 25. York Pow-Wow

See a tipi at the York Pow-Wow and Show this weekend. The event will include Native American dances, food and art. Flutist Tsa'me Do'se and Aztec dancers will help represent the tribes.

Such traditional foods as buffalo stew and fried bread will be available for purchase along with such things as dream catchers and moccasins. The event starts Saturday with a parade of nations.

The Pow-Wow is Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is $4 for children ages 3-12 and $7 for 13 and older. The York Fairgrounds is at the Memorial Hall Building, 334 Carlisle Ave. in York Pa. Call 717-848-2596.
