The lady has guts. To sit on President Bush's doorstep, while he wiles away on vacation, as more guys are killed and maimed in Iraq, is a poignant reminder of the failed Bush policy that continues there unabated.
And where are our elected members of Congress? They too are off on their annual August sojourns.
I hope they are getting an earful from their constituents, who increasingly see the failures of Mr. Bush's policies.
Will they return energized to take him on, or remain mute on the sidelines, acquiescing and immobilized as they have these many months and years?
They need to take a cue from Ms. Sheehan.

Tabloid-style taste for visions of holy
An article about pancake batter in the shape of a praying figure on the front page ("In everyday items, seeing the holy," Aug. 14)?
I'd expect to read such a story in the Weekly World News, but not in an ostensibly reputable newspaper in a major American city.
I can't wait to see if The Sun can top this one for bad taste and bad journalistic judgment.
