Session slated on Medicare drug coverage

Representatives from the Howard County Office on Aging's Senior Health Insurance Program will present "Understanding Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage 2006," at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way.

A representative from the Social Security Administration will discuss "Extra Help" benefits available to those who are eligible, and to help complete applications.

Opera preview scheduled at Bain Center on Aug. 28

The SEATS Opera Advisory Committee will hold its Second Annual Opera Preview with musical highlights and synopses by Tom Glenn from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Bain Center.

Dessert and a drawing for two free tickets to a Washington National Opera Production are planned after the program.

Artisans being sought for Holiday Craft Fair

Town Center Community Association is seeking artisans for its Holiday Craft Fair, to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 at Historic Oakland, 4350 Vantage Point Road.

Space is limited to the first 40 vendors. The cost to register is $20. Tables are provided.

At the library: The central library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, will offer "Play Partners," for infants and toddlers to 23 months, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesday; and "Super Saturdays," a program of stories and songs for small groups and families of preschool through early elementary-age children, at 10 a.m. Saturday. Legal assistance: Attorney Johanna Klema will be at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, Columbia, to execute simple wills, powers of attorney, living wills, small estates and deed changes from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. The program, open to Howard County residents ages 60 and older, is part of the 60 Plus Wills and Legal Screening Program of the Department of Citizen Services' Office on Aging.
