Blue Jays update

Toronto has won three in a row to stay in third place in the American League East, but it gets tough from here. The Blue Jays are beginning a 14-day, 13-game road trip. They're 25-30 away from home. Alex Rios is 10-for-18 in his past five games, with two homers and six RBIs. Vernon Wells was kept out of the lineup yesterday for the first time since June 20. His 25 RBIs in July ranked second in the league, and he hit .344 over his past 14 games. Seventeen of his past 33 hits have gone for extra bases. The Blue Jays took two of three from the Orioles at Camden Yards in early May. Josh Towers shut them out on three hits over eight innings in a 1-0 victory - out-dueling Daniel Cabrera, who also went eight innings.
