Program helps Howard parents find child care providers

Howard County parents can get free help in finding state-licensed child care centers, family child care providers, preschools and programs for school-age children through a service called LOCATE: Child Care.

The program is a service of the Howard County Child Care Resource Center, part of the Department of Citizen Services. That program can also help parents seeking subsidized health care, subsidized child care and tax credits.

Those seeking child care and preschool programs can contact child care counselors who will assist in finding services that best fit the parents' needs and their ability to pay.

The services are available by calling 410-313-1930 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
