KEWLEY ALLEN JOHNS of Dover, DE., passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2005 in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover, within the loving embrace of his family. He was 66. Mr. Johns was born February 20, 1939, in Baltimore Maryland, son of the late George Dorsey and Thais Johns. Mr. Johns was a highly decorated and distinguished thirty-year veteran of the United States Air Force retiring in 1986 as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother and friend to many. Mr. Johns enjoyed coaching little league baseball and basketball and at one time was a mainstay at the youth center at Dover Air Force Base. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mildred A. Johns on April 26, 2004 and his younger brother Robert Major. He is survived by four sons and the wives of three, Carlton Johns of Upper Marlboro Md., Angelico and Sonya Johns of Dover, De., Orlando and Lessie Johns of Orefield, Pa., and Micardo and Maisha Johns of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren La Ketta, La Keesha, La Toya, Marcus, Ashley, Carlton Jr., Carlos, a great-granddaughter, Sharia, a sister Edna Burgette of Scranton, Pa., two brothers, Harvey Major of Nashville, Tenn. and Allain Major of Scranton, Pa., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover. Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, Queen and Fulton Streets, Dover Delaware where friends may also call one hour earlier. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware at 2:00 P.M.
