LEONARD G. LUSBY, SR., June 19, 1927- July 24, 2005, a native Baltimorian and recent resident of St. Petersburg, FL, died on Sunday, July 24th @ 11:13 A.M. A widower (wife: Sylvia M. Lusby 11/27/23- 5/4/90), he is survived by , Leonard Lusby, Jr, son; Craig Lusby & Lucia Lusby, son & daughter-in-law; Grandchildren: CJ & Ashley Lusby and Erik & Megan Purpora. Born and raised in Baltimore, he enlisted in the US Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged. Returning from military service, he apprenticed with Dan Mar Trouser Mfg. Co. where he worked & retired. Over his 27 year career, he rose to the postion of Head of The Production Department and served as the Head Pattern Maker! He was admired, for his work and created "custom designs" which were worn by sports Legends the likes of Baltimore Bullets Stars Wes Unseld, Gus Johnson, Earl Monroe, and Jack Marin, as well as the local sculpturist Rubin Kramer. His designs were also sold in high fashion stores such as Saks 5th Ave., New York and Fine Men's Stores, D.C. Leonard was a "true Baltimore Boy" who loved his crabs, and the Orioles! He held memberships in the American Legion and V.F.W. , he was a Master Mason, Knight Templer, and Shriner! Having a love of horses he joined the Boumi Temples's Mounted Patrol and rode in many shows and parade events through-out the mid-Atlantic region. He throughly enjoyed attending dances and social affairs, and traveling with his wife, Sylvia, and his friends from the Boumi Temple. He enjoyed refinishing antiques and was an accomplished practical joker, who could laugh at himself!Friends and Family are welcome to attend the Memorial service to be held on Friday, August 12, 2005 @ 7:00 P.M. at ST. John's Lutheran Church, 8808 Harford Rd. in Parkville, MD.
