THE QUESTION: WHERE ARE THE FARMERS' MARKETS IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY?

With last month's opening of the Glen Burnie Town Center Farmers Market, there are now six farmers' markets in the county -- and 74 in the state of Maryland.

The Anne Arundel locations are at Riva Road / Truman Parkway outside Annapolis; Calvert and Clay streets in Annapolis; Cedar Grove United Methodist Church parking lot at 5965 Deale-Churchton Road in Deale; Glen Burnie Town Center at Central Avenue / Platzer Lane; Ritchie Highway / Jones Station Road in Severna Park; and Piney Orchard Community Center parking lot on Stream Valley Drive off Route 170 in Odenton.

Only the Annapolis market is open year-round; the others end in the fall. For hours of operation, go to: www.aacounty.org / WhatsNew / farmersMarket.cfm

Informal roadside produce stands can also be found around the southern part of the county.
