COMING UP

Beyond The Looking Glass, an exhibition featuring children's artwork alongside the work of their mentors, opens tonight with a gala reception at the Maryland Federation of Art City Gallery. The exhibition is a result of the work of MFA, a local nonprofit organization, the Johns Hopkins University's Center for Summer Learning and Maryland Institute College of Art's Community Art Partnerships. The three groups, which came together to create the program, are dedicated to giving an artistic voice to socially or economically disadvantaged children.

"Beyond the Looking Glass" has a gala reception tonight from 5 to 8 at the MFA City Gallery at 330 N. Charles St. The exhibition runs through Aug. 27. Call 410-685-0300 or visit www.mdfedart.org for more information. Below is a piece of artwork from a previous year's exhibit.
