Traffic accidents claimed three lives in Prince George's County over the weekend, two of them when a car slammed into a utility pole early yesterday in Largo, police reported.

The two victims in yesterday's crash were the front- and rear-seat passengers in a car that ran off Harry S. Truman Drive at Prince Place about 3:20 a.m., hitting a curb and the pole, police said.

The driver was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, a police spokeswoman said. She did not have further information about the identity of the victims.

About 9 p.m. Saturday, 51- year-old Lenard Paul Schindler of the 1200 block of Parkington Lane in Bowie was killed when the 1994 Nissan Sentra he was driving north on Collington Road collided with a 1998 Toyota Camry that turned in front of him at London Lane, police said.

The police spokeswoman declined to release the name of the other driver, who she said was not injured.
