White Sox update

The White Sox (65-35) come to Camden Yards sporting the best record in the major leagues, 11 1/2 games up on Minnesota in the American League Central. They haven't, however, played their best baseball of late, losing six of their past 10, and two straight to the lowly Kansas City Royals. The White Sox have done it with pitching as their staff leads the AL with a 3.66 ERA and has given up the second-fewest hits in the AL. Buehrle, Monday's starter, leads the AL in innings and is third in the AL in ERA. Jon Garland, whom the Orioles do not face, is fourth in the AL in ERA and tops with 15 wins. As a team, Chicago is hitting .262, tied for second-lowest in the AL, but the White Sox have been able to manufacture runs when needed. Scott Podsednik leads the league with 51 stolen bases. When the two teams met in mid-May, they split a four-game series.
