The Baltimore City Department of Transportation today announced several road closures during Sunday morning's Fire Expo Parade.

According to the agency, northbound Light Street from Key Highway to Conway Street and northbound Key Highway from Lawrence Street to Light Street will be closed from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

The parade, which begins at 9 a.m., will form along Key Highway between Covington and Cross streets and proceed north along Light Street, west on Conway Street, then north along Charles Street to the Baltimore Convention Center, where it will disband.

The parade is expected to last about two and a half hours. The department urged motorists traveling in the vicinity of the parade route Sunday to use alternate routes.

Northbound Light Street traffic will be detoured west onto Henrietta Street, then north on Charles Street. Northbound Key Highway traffic will be detoured south onto Lawrence Street, west on Fort Avenue, then north on Charles Street. Northbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured north onto Charles Street.

Also today, city transportation officials announced an Interstate 83 ramp closure beginning Monday along North Avenue for construction work. Starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until 3 p.m. Thursday, the North Avenue access ramp to southbound I-83 will be closed to through traffic, with detours in effect.

North Avenue traffic to southbound I-83 will be detoured east on North Avenue, south on St. Paul Street, then east on Eager Street to the southbound Jones Falls Expressway.
