Stancil Gittings, Mildred

On July 1, 2005 MILDRED STANCIL GITTINGS, passed in Baltimore. Her body will be donated to science. She was born on May 20, 1916 to rev. Thomas and Mrs. Octavia Stancil of New Bern, NC. Mrs. Gittings was the widow of the late Arthur Gittings. She was owner and Director of the Tiny Tim Day Nursery for over 40 years and sponsor of the Little League Giants, James Mosher Association for 20 years and the Mildred S. Gittings Scholarship for the physically handicapped. Mrs. Gittings was Past Matron, Queen of Sheba #3, P.S.G.L.L.R. Order of the Golden Circle and a faithful member of the Forest Park Reform Presbyterian Church for many years. She is survived by three nieces, Mrs. Pearl Stancil Woingust, Rev. Geraldine Stancil James and Rev. Shirley Stancil Carrington; one nephew, Dr. Gerald M. Stancil; and a host of great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Gittings on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Forest Park Reform Presbyterian Church, 3805 Fairview Avenue (Fairview Ave. and Garrison Blvd.) at 4 P.M. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
