Work has begun on North Laurel water system

July 24, 2005

Improvements to the North Laurel-area water distribution system are under way at the southwest corner of the intersection of Gorman and Stephens roads, across from Stone Lake Drive.

The improvements are deemed necessary to provide sufficient public water to meet projected needs for commercial use and fire protection in the southeast portion of the county.

The project requires single-lane closings on Gorman and Stephens roads between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.

The project is scheduled to be completed in late October.
