Deep-water running: 'unbelievable' exercise with no jarring stress on joints

Check with your local swim club to see if it offers a deep-water running program.

Maryland Athletic Club offers free deep-water classes for members. Nonmembers are allowed one complimentary guest pass per month.

Meadowbrook Aquatic & Fitness Center in Baltimore has a discount rate for members, nonmembers pay $7 per class.

Towson Family YMCA offers a member discount, nonmembers pay $130 for an eight-week fitness pass.
