Ottawa 6, Norfolk 5: Powered by David Newhan's two-run homer in the fifth inning, the host Lynx (48-47) defeated the Tides (53-45).

Double-A Eastern League

Norwich 3, Bowie 2 (first game): Fred Lewis scored from first base after a single and a fielding error by Simon Pond in the seventh inning, giving the Navigators the victory over the host Baysox in the seven-inning doubleheader opener. Bowie 2, Norwich 1 (second game): Peter Bergeron drove in the winning run to give the host Baysox (47-49) a split with the Navigators (47-50).

Single-A Carolina League

Frederick 5, Kinston 1: Adam Loewen (4-6) gave up eight hits and struck out five through five innings to lead the Keys (11-8) over the host Indians (10-14).

Single-A South Atlantic League

Delmarva 4, Lake County 1: The first-place Shorebirds (19-6) scored two runs in the sixth inning and two more in the eighth to beat the visiting Captains (10-15). Hagerstown at West Virginia: The Suns' game against the Power was canceled because of rain. It was the last scheduled against West Virginia, and it will not be made up.

Single-A New York-Penn League

Aberdeen 4, Vermont 2: Radhames Liz (3-2) struck out 15 and walked none as the IronBirds (10-17) defeated the host Expos (7-21) for their sixth straight victory.
