July 20, 2005

Two children were flown to Johns Hopkins Hospital yesterday after being struck by lightning at a YMCA camp in Kent County, authorities said.

Both were shocked simultaneously about 5 p.m. at Camp Tockwogh on Still Pond Neck Road in Worton, according to Kent County Emergency Services. Camp personnel resuscitated one child using a defibrillator and CPR.

The children - who were not identified - were treated by medics from the Betterton Volunteer Fire Co. and flown by state police Medevac helicopter to Johns Hopkins. Their conditions were not available last night.
