Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southern District

Arrest: William Johnson, 25, of the 5700 block of Thunder Hill Road in Columbia was arrested about 9 p.m. Sunday at the Glen Burnie Holiday Inn by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force and Anne Arundel County police on a warrant charging him with attempted murder of a city policeman. Officer Phillip James was in the 4100 block of Towson Ave. about 7:30 p.m. July 12 when a man fired a shot at him. An investigation led to Johnson being identified as the gunman and a tip led to his capture, police said. Johnson was being held at the Central Booking and Intake Center.

Central District

Robbery: A 20-year-old woman was walking in the 200 block of W. Lafayette Ave. about 2 a.m. Sunday when two men, one with an unknown weapon, knocked her to the ground and robbed her of $50 and a cellular telephone.

Robbery: A woman was about to place money into a pay-for-parking machine in a garage in the 700 block of E. Lombard St. about 10 p.m. Sunday when a man stole her purse.

Western District

Drug arrest: Responding to a report of a man in possession of drugs in the first block of N. Wheeler Ave. about 5:20 p.m. Sunday, Officer Dexter White questioned a suspect and recovered four small plastic bags of crack cocaine from behind his belt buckle. Charged with possession of cocaine was Melvin Moore, 18, of the 2500 block of Frederick Ave.

Shooting: An 18-year-old man was inside a house in the 2800 block of W. Lanvale St. about 7 p.m. Sunday when someone standing outside shot him in the left leg. He was treated at Sinai Hospital.

Southeastern District

Shooting: Police were continuing to seek a gunman who shot an 18-year-old man in the chest, stomach and legs early Sunday in the 200 block of S. Dallas Court. The victim was reported in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Stolen vehicle: A beige 1999 Chrysler Venture with tags M929854 was stolen over the weekend in the first block of Waldmann Mill Court.

Towson Precinct

Stolen vehicle: Police were seeking a blue 1994 Chrysler Concord with tags LTD 295 that was stolen Sunday in the 1200 block of Linkside Drive.

Franklin Precinct

Robbery: A 43-year-old man was walking in the 6900 block of Brookmill Road about 9 p.m. Sunday when another man sprayed him in the face with an unknown substance, then robbed him of his wallet containing an undisclosed amount of money.- Richard Irwin
