Baltimore County police today sought the public's help in identifying suspects in an Essex homicide last week.

James Richard Myers' body was found about 1:45 p.m. Thursday in a marshy area behind the Wal-Mart at the Carroll Island Shopping Center in the 100 block of Carroll Island Road, police said.

On Friday, the state's chief medical examiner ruled the 44-year-old's death as a homicide. Police did not reveal the cause of Myers' death.

Myers, of the 7300 block of Greenbank Road, was last seen July 11, and a missing person's report was filed with police Wednesday. Police are investigating Myers' activities and whereabouts in the hours before he was killed.

Police described Myers as white, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall, with a slim build and a mustache. He also walked with a limp, according to authorities.

Police urge anyone who may have seen Myers last Monday in the Carroll Island Shopping Center vicinity or anyone with information about the crime to call 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587). Callers to Metro Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000.
