Teenager killed, 3 wounded in shooting at restaurant

Police were investigating yesterday a shooting at a pizza restaurant in West Baltimore that left a 16-year-old dead and three teens wounded Saturday night.

Four teenagers were waiting for their food at Pizza Pizza Etc. in the 1300 block of Poplar Grove St. about 10:50 p.m. when two men walked into the restaurant and opened fire, said Agent Donny Moses, a city police spokesman.

"There was no altercation. They just walked in and started firing," Moses said.

Jawan Lee, 16, of the 1300 block of Poplar Grove St. was hit in the leg, hand and chest, Moses said. He was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:34 p.m., Moses said.

The three others, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old, were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital, Moses said. Police did not identify them.

The gunmen ran from the store after the shootings. Police have not identified a motive and have no suspects, Moses said.
