Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts' Teen Professional Theatre will offer five performances of Elton John and Tim Rice's musical, Aida, at 7:30 p.m. July 28 and 29; 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. July 30; and 2:30 p.m. July 31 at Reservoir High School in Fulton.
The Teen Professional Theatre is a summer program for those ages 13 to 21 that provides workshops, mentorship and a final performance of a Broadway musical. Sixty young actors are participating in this year's program, which includes one-on-one and ensemble rehearsals with guest artists, and mentorships with professional teachers and other staff.
Tickets to the performance are $15; $10 for students and senior citizens. Reserved seating is available for $20-$22.50.

Two free shows scheduled on Montpelier grounds
The 27th Montpelier Summer Concert Series continues at 7:30 p.m. Thursday with two free shows by the Tent Troupe on the grounds of Montpelier Mansion, at Route 197 at Muirkirk Road, Laurel.
The traveling summer tent theater will present a children's show, Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! at 1:45 p.m. A family show, You Can't Take It With You, will be presented at 8 p.m.
Performances are held, rain or shine, under a big-top tent. Seating is provided. Free public parking and parking for the disabled is available at the Muirkirk Road entrance, off Route 197, a quarter-mile west of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
The Montpelier Summer Concert Series is a gift to citizens from the south Laurel Recreation Council volunteers, who are celebrating 35 years of service to the community.
English conversation club slated at the library
The Savage branch library holds an English conversation club for adults and teens for whom English is a second or third language to practice speaking and understanding in a group setting.
The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 2.

This month's children's programs at the Savage branch library include "Storytime Safari," programs of animal stories, songs and activities for ages 2 to 5 with an adult, offered at 10:30 a.m. Mondays, through Aug. 8; 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, through Aug. 9; 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursdays, through Aug. 11; and 10:30 a.m. Fridays, through Aug. 12. Registration is required. "Play Partners," a series of short programs for infants through 23-month- olds, is slated at 9:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, through Aug. 3.
