St. Phillips Church, Friends offer an evening of music

St. Phillips Episcopal Church and Annapolis Friends Meeting House will offer an evening of music at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Quaker meeting house, 351 Dubois Road.

James Ballard and friends from St. Phillips will perform. Joanna Mendelman will read her poetry. Music selections will include jazz, ballads, blues and show tunes.

Guests are asked to bring a pot luck dish or dessert and the Friends meeting house will provide barbecue. Information: 410-263-4529.

Church of Our Redeemer to hold barbecue benefits

The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer will host "pit beef Saturdays" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 23, Aug. 20 and Sept. 3, 7606 Quarterfield Road, Glen Burnie.

Participants will help raise funds for Arundel House of Hope, a homeless shelter. Information: 410-766-8778.

Anchor Baptist plans vacation Bible school

Anchor Baptist Church will sponsor a vacation Bible school for children 4 to 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 25-29, 320 West Pasadena Road, Millersville.

Children participating in this program will learn about service. Each night will highlight a service group in the community: firefighters, police, paramedics, military, doctors and nurses.

The program is free, however offering contests (Pennies on Monday, nickels on Tuesday, etc.) will be featured each evening. Money collected will be used to support mission projects. Information: 410-647-9614.
