The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore announced the appointments of Bill Snitcher as sponsorship director and Lainie Contreras as public relations manager for the Druid Hill Park tourist attraction.


HopeWell Cancer Support appointed Carole Sharp, formerly with the American Cancer Society, as the Baltimore-based organization's program director.


The Maryland Hospital Association has presented Kenneth H. Bancroft, president and chief executive officer of St. Agnes HealthCare, with its distinguished service award.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES announced that Virginia Bush joined the staff of the Havre de Grace-based Internet marketing and online advertising agency as a senior account manager.

Sturn Wagner Lombardo & Co. LLC appointed Chris Dicey as an information technology manager and named Joe Doll and Jim Pierzynski as managers in the firm's accounting department.


Baltimore Community Foundation announced the election of Harry S. Johnson, a member of the law firm of Whiteford Taylor & Preston, and Marc B. Terrill, president of The Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore, to posts on the board of trustees.

Hanger Orthopedic Group Inc., based in Bethesda, named Isaac Kaufman of Advanced Medical Management to seats on its board of directors and audit committee.


Provident Bank has promoted Marjorie L. Hitchcock, to be vice president of its regional recruitment and retention center, Therese M. Rafferty as vice president of the internal audit compliance center, and Edward L. Presler Sr. as vice president of commercial lending and custom builders division. Hitchcock and Rafferty are at the Baltimore offices, and Presler is assigned to the Fairfax, Va., offices of the Baltimore-based regional bank.

Butler Capital Corp., based in Hunt Valley, announced that Joseph M. Grimm III has joined the firm as a sales associate in its franchise funding division.
