On Thursday, July 7, 2005, in Salisbury, MD, EVA M. COURTNEY, 84, of Princess Anne, and formerly of Baltimore. Born in Baltimore on November 17, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Henry E. Becker and Norma Virginia Jory Becker. Her husband, Robert Austin Courtney, is also deceased. She was a mother and homemaker who attended Sudbrook United Methodist Church in Pikesville, MD for 55 years. She was also a member of the Euclid Council of Baltimore. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by three daughters, Carol A. Corwin and her husband, Richard, of Wenona, Jeanne L. and Peter Paff, of La Plata, MD, and Deborah L. Courtney, of Pikesville; grandchildren, Robert and Dana Corwin, Karen L. Corwin, Christopher A. Shields and Kathleen C. Shields; four great-grandchildren, Claire, Emily and Sara Corwin and Amelia Shields; a brother, Henry E. Becker, Jr., of Montrose, CO; a sister, Virginia L. Becker, of Baltimore and a brother, Donald P. Becker, of Glen Burnie, MD; a sister, Dorothy E. Ford and a brother, Norman Becker, preceded her in death. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3120 Timanus Lane, Suite 106, Baltimore, MD 21244 or to the Alley Animals, 629 Fairway Drive, Towson, MD 21286. Arrangements are being handled by Hinman Funeral Home.
