Bayhawks today

Matchup: Long Island Lizards (3-3) vs. Bayhawks (6-0)

Site: Johnny Unitas Stadium, Towson University

Time: 4 p.m.

TV: ESPN2 (Tuesday, 4 p.m., tape delay)

Outlook: These teams traded goals throughout the first half of their first meeting June 30, but the Bayhawks used an 8-2 third-quarter run to take the 21-15 victory and stay unbeaten. Today, the Bayhawks will need another outstanding performance from crease defenseman Shawn Nadelen, who held the Lizards' second-leading scorer, Chris Massey, scoreless in Uniondale. Massey leads Major League Lacrosse in shot percentage (.600). Between Paul Cantabene's league-leading work on faceoffs (.590 win percentage) and the team's decisive margin (67-40) on fielding groundballs, the Bayhawks dominated possession and hardly missed starting attackman Mikey Powell. Powell, who sat out the first game with a concussion, was Most Valuable Player of MLL's July 2 All-Star Game (four goals, three assists) and will start today.
