Walgreens Pharmacy

Location: Routes 26 and 32, Eldersburg

Architect: KB-MAC, LLC, Westminster

Description: The pharmacy chain plans a 14,820-square-foot store on a 1.59-acre property at the northwest corner of the highways that are the major arteries for the area. The business replaces a Crown gas station and convenience store that will be razed within the next year. Developer plans a building in keeping with area's architecture, a new access road from Route 32 and no entrances from Route 26. The project will include 64 parking spaces, four for handicapped motorists.

Status: The Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission has reviewed the concept plan for the project and seen several photographs showing how a Walgreens Pharmacy typically looks. Planners will require low-profile signs and lighting. In the next several months, the developer must submit more detailed and definitive plans to the commission before final approval is granted. For more information, call the county Planning Department at 410-386-2145.
