Technology students create `Ready React' Web site

Students in the Carroll County Career and Technology Center's computer technology class have launched a Web site, www.reachoutcarrollcounty.org.

The "Ready React Respond: Community Connection" Web site is dedicated to educating citizens on emergency preparedness and hometown safety, including ways to prepare for disasters, and information on where to get help should a disaster occur and where citizens can lend a helping hand.

The students developed the Web site after receiving a Youth Ready to Respond grant from the Points of Light Foundation. The Carroll County school system, in partnership with Volunteer Carroll, was one of 10 organizations nationwide to receive the two-year, $50,000 grant.
